Mother

Let me introduce you to Mother, also known as Creeping Vine or the Overgrowth.

Description

Mother is a warlock patron based on parasitic plants and mind-controlling fungi. She is, in a nutshell, kudzu on an interplanar scale. She sinks her roots into a plane, takes hold in the cracks and starts growing. She wants what all plants want: to grow, to thrive, to spread. She asks her warlocks to aid in this goal.

She doesn't talk, as such. She communicates in dreams, images and feelings. She doesn't understand the lives of mortals very well, but maybe that's okay. She doesn't need to understand you to give you otherworldly powers. And, after all, she loves all her warlocks as if they were her very own saplings.

Mother appears in the world as a green and purple vine, preferring to grow in places where the veil between the planes is weak, or parasitising a powerful or significant tree. Those who come into contact with the vines may experience strange visions of growing plants, wordlessly offering strange magic...

A note on gender/pronouns: Mother is a plant and has no gender or concept thereof. Any pronouns will do, so long as you'll take this seed. Just take it. apop it into your mouth. It's fine. It's harmless, really.

Seeds

The vines that are Mother produce purple flowers and small green seedpods, shot through with purple veins. These seeds can be planted, where they will sprout even in conditions that might not usually be conducive to plant growth. These places will become connected to Mother until the sapling is uprooted.

The seeds can also be given to people. People who come into possession of a seed of Mother will feel compelled to plant it, or even to eat it. When someone eats a seed (or if you convince or force someone to eat a seed), they become infected with a fragment of Mother. Over time, they will become either an extension of Mother or a warlock themselves.

A warlock of Mother will usually begin their pact by eating one of Mother's seeds. This ususlaly comes after a dream or vision of Mother offering the candidate power. When the warlock-to-be wakes up, they will find that a seed has mysteriously appeared out of thin air. Eating it can be considered accepting the pact.

Once the pact is established, her warlocks will occasionally find new seeds lodged in their throats, or lying on their pillow when they wake up. They may also find delicate green and purple vines growing amongst their hair.

Feats

1st level
Wild growth: Once per short or long rest, you can call on your patron to trigger a rapid growth of purple leaves on your body as a bonus action. The next attack against you has disadvantage.

6th level
Poison sap: Your blood/sap/bodily fluid has become poisonous. When a creature rolls a critical hit on a melee attack against you, it takes 1d10 poison damage. Also, you can choose to cut youself to coat a weapon of choice in poison. You voluntarily take the damage that weapon deals, and the weapon will do an added 1d4 poison damage per hit for the next 24 hours or until it’s submerged in water/liquid.

10th level
Root network: You can meditate for one hour and make contact with a place you’ve been before, or a person you’ve consciously infected. You can sense what’s happening, or sense through that person’s senses for one minute.

14th level
Green gift: Once per short, you can spit a seed at someone within melee range. The target makes a wisdom saving throw against your warlock spell save DC. On a failed save, it is charmed or frightened by you (your choice) for 1 minute or until your concentration is broken (as if you are concentrating on a spell). This effect ends early if the creature takes any damage.
Once this effect ends, the target is incapacitated for its next round, while it vomits up the seed.
